Privacy policy
We care about the privacy of the users of MoodJam and its services. This page describes how MoodJam will treat personal information of our members.
Email addresses
When you sign up for a MoodJam account, we ask you for the following information: a login name, an e-mail address, and a password. Your email address is used to send mail to you, so you can validate your registration and recover your password. We will not send to you mail without your permission. We will not release e-mail addresses to any third-parties.
Cookies
When you use MoodJam and its services, we send your browser one or more cookies. Cookies are used to identify you and to store your preferences. They are not shared with other sites and are not used for advertisements.
Information sharing
To accomplish our research, we need to monitor how people use the MoodJam website. This includes recording when each user logs in, what pages the user requests, what moods the user enters, among others. Users are represented anonymously as numeric identifiers whenever possible, so that researchers do not know the real identity of the users in the data they are studying.
We may share demographic data for research purposes, but without personally identifiable information, such as your login name or e-mail address. Additionally, moods of individual users may be included in research results, but without personally identifiable information.
Research members of MoodJam must obey the privacy policy delineated in this document. Data about our users are password protected and database access is limited to research members.
